Luxury textile accessories designer CLAIRE GAUDION specialises in print and weave, and creates contemporary accessories made-in-Britain. With an emphasis on colour and pattern, CLAIRE GAUDION's designs mix modern and traditional printing and weaving techniques, including double-cloths and colour and weave. Developed and sampled on the dobby loom in our Hampshire studio, CLAIRE GAUDION’s production runs are then woven or printed in specialist British mills. Provenance, heritage, and production methods are very important, and we have chosen to manufacture our collections exclusively in the UK, due to the exceptional quality and craftsmanship of our British manufacturers. We work with selected specialist mills across the UK and our processes use hand-finishing, traditional heritage power looms as well as new technologies in digital print, and weave.
CLAIRE GAUDION’s patterns and colours are inspired by the picturesque coastal landscapes and seascapes of her home island, Guernsey. Guernsey and its’ neighbouring Channel Islands off the coasts of southern Britain and northern France have dramatic and beautiful granite coastlines with ever-changing light and shadows across the sea and skies. CLAIRE GAUDION’s abstract patterns capture this continual movement and interpret these island qualities in layers of colours and interlacing forms.
CLAIRE GAUDION'S British-made collections are sold internationally and have been featured by Refinery29.com, Elle Decoration, NeverUnderdressed.com, The Times, Eurowoman DK, and Country Living magazines, among others.
