More toned down, softer, almost more personal

This collection was a really nice surprise from the Italian brand. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are more well-known for creating slightly loud, a little over-the-top pieces and when too much is done so well we are all for it but with this FW13 Men`s collection we can see a different side to the two designers, more toned down, softer, almost more personal, and it’s very refreshing!
With the use of neutral and dark colours and a lot of texture, some of the pieces are quite rustic and traditional but somehow still contemporary in the way that they are built and in the clever details. Overall very reminiscent of the British style with some looks that wouldn’t be out of place in a Burberry Prorsum  catwalk. Of course there are still a few “flashy” pieces because after all this is still D&G we’re talking about and if there was not a little bit of extravagance it just wouldn’t be the same!
